This caught me by surprise as I trekked across the campus of the College of Staten Island. I had no idea they'd put up a memorial, though it certainly makes sense - especially when you consider the tons of rubble trucked along the Staten Island Expressway to the (otherwise closed) SI landfill. The twisted metal beams, the flag in the background, the grey, gloomy winter sky... a simple, fitting memorial.
