
The gulls scoop up clamshells from the shallow bank just beyond our street. Then they fly up over the road and release the shells, breaking them open on the asphalt below. They greedily suck down the meat and clam juices, then fly off to repeat the process. Clever birds.
Meanwhile, our tires crunch over broken shell-bits as we drive down the street. I wouldn't walk into the street barefoot. Ow.
