March 13th, 2008

It's very much a part of the scenery of New York. A long, graceful bridge arching over the water, connecting Staten Island to Brooklyn (which is geographically part of my island, Long Island). The Verrazano Narrows Bridge. It offers crossers a terrific view of lower Manhattan (marred by the gaping wound of Ground Zero, but marvelous nonetheless). Trips over it are often slowed to a standstill by traffic, but still, this bridge speaks to me of beauty, and of home.
