Happy birthday to you, American nation. While I'm not always proud of the actions Americans take around the world, I'm happy to live here, where I can speak my mind, voice my disagreements, diverge from the mainstream. I'm not blind to our societal faults. But I am relieved that we do, as a nation, manage to get some things right.


Here's to a better America this time next year.
